Commonwealth theme for 2020
The Royal Commonwealth Society of Wales was established in 2007. The organisation was launched in the National Assembly for Wales. Our first Chairman, Mr P K Verma, was approached by the RCS and offered the role in recognition of his extensive voluntary experience and his role within Wales’ political community.
RCS Wales supports the mission of the Royal Commonwealth Society, which is to support and promote the modern Commonwealth, its cultures and its core values. We are committed to improving the lives and prospects of Commonwealth citizens across the world. We therefore champion the importance of literacy, equality and inclusion, the environment and connected communities in Wales and across the Commonwealth’s 54 member nations.
Vision and Mission
RCS Wales are proud to hold Youth Summit events in South Wales. They are attended by young people from local schools, who come together to discuss pressing international issues that are affecting the Commonwealth. They are a great opportunity for any young person who wants to learn more about democracy at the local, national and pan-Commonwealth level.
