Today we came together at the Mansion House, Cardiff, to honour the brave men and women of the Merchant Navywho have served — and continue to serve — our nation in times of both peace and conflict.

To mark this important occasion, the Red Ensign (Red Duster) is flying proudly — a lasting symbol of our gratitude and remembrance.

A special ceremony at the Mansion House recognised and thanked veteran Merchant Navy sailors for their remarkable courage, dedication, and sacrifice.

We remain deeply thankful to all who have served in the Merchant Navy. Your courage and commitment will never be forgotten.
